Fishmeal is an essential component in the diet of domestic animals and poultry. The composition of the product contains essential amino acids: lysine, threonine, methionine, tryptophan, and omega-3 fatty acids, which help increase the body's production of the hormone progesterone, which affects positively the reproductive function of animals. Selenium, iodine, phosphorus, vitamins A and D, biotin, choline, which are contained in fish meal and are indispensable in the process of growth and development of vital systems of the animal’s body.
In the course of scientific experiments, we have developed and recommended standards for adding fish meal per 1 kg of feed for different types and groups of animals and birds, which are presented in table No. 1:
Type and group of farm animals and birds | Recommended rates,% |
Adult hens | up to 10 |
Adult ducks, geese | up to 10 |
Adult quail | up to 10 |
Young birds | up to 11 |
Piglets 45-65 days | up to 16 |
Piglets over 65 days | up to 7 |
The daily addition of fishmeal to the feed helps:
• better feed utilization and increase in live weight gain;
• reduction of production costs;
• improving egg production of birds and the reproductive function of animals;
• increase the body's immune system.
